Model the words for your child. Use the FIND button under ABC 123 to show the motor pattern #4: Use Double Core Words (i.e. Put up, or Work Out) to shoe multiple meanings AAC app Modeled in this video: 🤍 When do I know my child is ready to change core vocabulary = when you are continuously unable to find words that are in your child's vocabulary or interests. Gabe is an autistic and nonverbal teen. He has a fear of the airport and flying. We drove to Colorado from Maryland because of this fear! Gabe has made a friend that lives in another state and while they were on FaceTime she suggested he practice going to the airport so he will get over his fear like she did years ago. A few days later Gabe began to tell us repeatedly that he wants to go to the airport! We begin Installation of Stärken AAC ( Auto Aerated Concrete) block. The 1st step was to get our Crew and Foreman trained and certified. This was not a problem as the company provides free training by highly skilled technician over 2 days. We decided to use AAC vs other building material because of the durability and the ease of use. Once completed we will end up saving close to 400k pesos off total cost of build. Now you may ask, what is total price per block. But it's actually better to compare total price per sqm finished! Each sqm of block is actually 30 percent cheaper than traditional hollowblock and it's much stronger and durability is amazing. That's just the up front savings! We will continue to save throughout build with time spent by plumber and electrician due to its ease of installation of conduit and water lines. Not to mention the reduction in our energy bills! Less heat entering house means less time running AC and more savings ! Here at Kreed's World we really try to show real life. It's not always pretty. Sometimes I can't talk Kreed out of hurting himself. This video includes a short couple of seconds of self injury but then it shows Kreed calm and how we work through it. In hindsight I wouldn't have let Kreed go outside (I thought he would jump it out) and I would have immediately taken him to his room. But you just never know- sometimes he has decided to jump it out. But you can see how quick the meltdown ended by talking it out with his device. When he wakes up today we will be talking about a couple instances from yesterday. But this is unedited what it's like sometimes in an autism household- but I feel fortunate- before a device this would have lasted HOURS and I would have had to physically restrain him at some point. I'm thankful we've worked so hard on his device- the meltdowns last much shorter! This was less than five minutes and then you see calmness. (FYI he did finally ask for a shower lol as soon as I left the room).
